Paper Writing Competition

PMI Pune chapter invites articles for Paper presentation competition. The selected papers will be published in the OnTarget 2012 Conference Souvenir.
Benefits of participating:
  • PDUs would be awarded for writing the paper under CCR Category D.
  • 2 papers would be selected for the award: Winner and Runner-up.
  • The award would be presented during OnTarget 2012 conference and winners would receive free registration for the conference. 
  • The selected papers would be published in "OnTarget" conference souvenir.
  • The rights of the papers stay with the authors, PMI Pune chapter does not hold any rights. Hence the authors can submit the papers elsewhere as well.
How to participate:
Submit your papers (in English) either as a PDF file or Word documented as an attachment by email to by 10th Feb 2012.
Ensure that your email has subject line as : “PMI Paper Competition-” followed by the Topic of your paper.
There are no registration fees and no criteria for submitting the Paper.

What are the topics?
Topics for paper writing competition are:
  • Case study on Sustainable Growth (of Organization/Society) through Effective Project Management.
  • Business growth through effective project management.
  • Mapping organizational strategy with project/program execution.
  • Things to be avoided to keep projects on track.
  • Does/How Agile transitions contribute to business growth?
  • Importance and challenges of Project Management in startups.
Along with the article, the paper should also include the following:
  • The Title of the Paper, Name of the author and Organizational affiliation of the author(s) on the Title Page
  • One page abstract
  • Write-up about the author in 50-80 words along with 1 photograph (150x150 pixels)
The article
  • Should be original work
  • Should not be less than 5000 words and should not exceed 8000 words
  • Text font should be Tahoma - 9
* Please note, there are marks for Aesthetics as well.

Notification of selected papers will be done by 15th Feb 2013.
The submitted papers would be evaluated by a panel chosen by the chapter. Evaluation would be based on the following criteria:
  1. Quality of hypothesis
  2. Data presentation
  3. Practical Implacability
  4. Use of figures/statistics
  5. Aesthetics
